May 29, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

On the last Sunday of this month May, we have an opportunity to get involved with up-skilling your macro-invertebrate knowledge with Waterwatch coordinator Richard Akers.

Sunday 29 May

10am – 2pm

epa shed 174 Glen Huntly Rd, Elwood

https://goo.gl/maps/FxknUCJJZLfXFjUg9

Parking is available at the Yalukit Willam Nature Associations shed. We will be walking between the shed and our sampling site at the wetlands and creek near St Kilda St.

Lunch will be BYO. As with all our activities, you’ll need sturdy closed toe shoes and weather appropriate clothing as well as the requirement for COVID vaccination (2 doses). Weather is looking a little rainy on the weekend, so prepare to rug up!

Please share with your groups and let me know if you’re interested in coming along so I can have an idea on numbers, and if we have scope to invite others to come along.

For an intro into waterbug identification, you can check out our webinar with John Gooderham from the Waterbug Company / National Waterbug Blitz

You can download the Waterbug App which has useful ID resources and functionality for recording survey results

And the ALT methodology we use for our ID and surveys is also available here

Please RSVP to richard.akers@melbournewater.com.au if you are planning to come along.
