October 1, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
The Annual General Meeting for YWNA members is to be held on Sunday 1st October 1st at 3.00pm at the YWNA shed ⛳️ 172 Glenhuntly Rd, Brighton. The first as YWNA!
We would expect the formal part of the meeting to take approx 60 minutes. This will be followed by a guided walk around the reserve. We will provide some snacks and time for an informal chat.
We do hope you can join us to celebrate such a significant year in the development of the Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve.
In accordance with the model rules of an Association under which YWNA operates all vacancies will be declared vacant at Sunday’s AGM.
We are pleased to say all of the current committee members are standing for re-election. N’arwee’t Carolyn Briggs played a significant role as an informal Cultural adviser last year. The committee has moved to formalise the role on the YWNA committee as Principal Cultural Advisor and N’arwee’t Carolyn has accepted the role.
The YWNA committee had a significant loss this year with the passing of one of our founding members Geoff Love. We miss him and are so indebted to all his efforts on this project.
Current nominations for the office holders and six (extra)ordinary members are as follows:
President – Natalie Davey
Vice President – Alison Soutar
Secretary – Michael Gulliver
Treasurer – Sanja Blackburn
Plant ecology Advisor – Dr Tricia Wevill
Naturalist Advisor – Gio Fitzpartrick
Communication and Membership – Rosie Grech
Principal Cultural Advisor- N’arwee’t Carolyn Briggs AM
Plant lab Coordinator – Claire Hudson
Flood and affiliates – Gina Fiske
If anyone would like to join the committee in any of the above positions, we would appreciate you advising the YWNA secretary at michael@gulliver.name before Wednesday 27th of September. If there is more than one person interested in a particular position, we will hold a short vote on the day.
We would like to add that there are many ways in which YWNA members can contribute to the development of the reserve and YWNA that do not involve a formal committee position. If you feel you would like to do more, we would welcome your involvement. Please contact Michael to talk this over.
While an RSVP is not essential, we nevertheless would appreciate a sense of the numbers attending by the 27th of September – committee@elsternwickpark.org
